The tabletop is comprises 5 solid oak planks with cleated ends, finished with an escalloped surface. It has been constructed by a cabinetmaker called “WA” and there is a copper plaque situated on the frieze on one side of the table. The table has been constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints, and then pegged. The table is raised on substantial turned gun barrel legs, on block feet, which are united by a single stretcher at each end, and twin stretchers down the centre. The tabletop and base are original. The top can removed, if necessary, to gain access into the house. The tabletop features a lovely colour & grain configuration. The table will seat up to 10 people.
