Description:
Here is a fine quality vintage English Georgian style burr walnut & green leather 4ft pedestal desk, by Brights Of Nettlebed, circa 1980, in good original condition. The desk incorporates a good quality full grain green inset leather with elegant gold tooling border, which is flanked by mahogany banding and a thumb moulded top. If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £125. The desk comprises of a top section with two pedestals, all of which incorporate lovely burr walnut veneers, on moulded plinths. There are 8 graduated working drawers to the front of the desk, with a large filing drawer at the bottom of one pedestal, all of which are decorated with cock-beaded fronts. The drawers are mahogany lined and constructed with dovetail joints, incorporating good quality turned mahogany knobs. The drawers to the top section incorporate working lever locks with key.

The pedestals are raised on Georgian style plinths and are decorated with fine moulding. The desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport and access into the home.

This desk features a warm burr walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a lovely mellow colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
This desk is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desktop frame, pedestals and plinths but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The desk incorporates a quality full grain sage green leather, which is in good overall condition; with nominal old use marks (see photos). If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £125. All drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The drawers to the top section retain the original working brass lever locks and original key (the drawers to the pedestals were not constructed with locks). This desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
