Description:
This is a fine quality late 20th Century reproduction of a Tudor style dark brown solid carved king size (5ft wide) full tester (four poster) bed, showing exceptional craftsmanship, in good condition. This is a superb quality bed finished in a dark brown oak colour, having been handmade from a combination of predominantly solid oak & other hardwoods. The bed is in the style of the English Tudor period, which dates from 1500 to 1530. This bed shows exceptional craftsmanship. All panels are detachable for ease of transport, easy access into the home and assembly.

This bed fits a standard UK king size mattress (5ft” wide x 6ft 6” long). The headboard can be dismantled into panels (if necessary) to allow easy access up narrow staircases or through doorways. The headboard is constructed of several floral carved panels, predominantly sunflowers, with some panels exhibiting punch work, interspersed with moulded rails. At the top are three carved panels depicting sunflower heads on a sunken matted ground, with three larger medieval sunflower carved panels in the middle, and four floral carved panels below on a punch work background. The bed displays a recessed panel roof, with a large central carved floral sunflower panel, flanked by moulded rails, finished with a moulded external canopy.

The external stiles incorporate delicate trailing grapevine carvings. Two floral turned fluted posts support the canopy at the front, above the bed.

The footboard boasts similar carved floral panels to the headboard, enriched with punch work. The two larger horizontal rails feature a moulded finish. The footboard corner blocks feature profuse grape vine floral carvings. The side rails features carved raised lozenge panels.

This bed is accentuated with style, romance and tradition. The impression created by this bed will without doubt be a memorable one as they are genuinely unique and recreate the ultimate in luxury of a bygone age.

This bed is not to be confused with other four-poster beds of lesser quality in the market place today. This bed is hand made; with hand carved panels, unlike other machine carved beds. The design, build quality and superstructure (thickness of panels) are of superior and exceptional quality. It is an extremely heavy bed!

Condition Report:
This bed is in good condition. It is an extremely well constructed, heavy, solid and very stable bed. There are no veneers on this bed, either; it is made of completely solid oak and other hardwoods. The bed boasts exquisite carvings, un-paralleled in terms of detail, intricacy and quality. The polish is also in good condition. This bed is of superior quality and construction, compared to other reproduction beds in the market place today. It is solid in joint and ready to use.
