Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian flame mahogany rectangular wall mirror, circa 1860, in good original condition. The frame boasts lovely concave moulded flame mahogany moulding, with stunning grain configuration. The back of the mirror retains its original backboards, with a replacement metal hanging chain. This mirror has been adapted from a Victorian dressing table some time ago. The mirror retains its original glass and shows signs of foxing, with nominal old use marks (see bottom right corner).
This wall mirror boasts a rich brown flame mahogany colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The mirror is a good practical piece of furniture, it’s not too large and not too small, and therefore, it can be used in most locations. The mirror would look superb in several rooms from the hallway to the bedroom. The mirror would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. Condition Report:
This mirror is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mirror retains its original glass, shows signs of foxing and old use marks (see bottom right corner). If you would like a new mirror in the frame, it will cost an additional £35. The back of the mirror retains its original backboards, with a replacement metal hanging chain. This mirror has been adapted from a Victorian dressing table some time ago. This item is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to be used.
